I have a bunch of Targas, though most were acquired by accident. Saw a pen on ebay and tossed a bit.

Think I grabbed a fairly significant red-swirl Targa for a song. If this is some lowly downstream wimpy similar pen, then.. oops..

David;

Ass. I was watching but, was well behaved and didn't bid even though it was a big, BIG, bargain.

The nib is worth what you paid for the pen since you can't get the nibs any other way for good value. Sure, you can sometimes see targa nibs listed at $80 but, who wants to pay that much. Considering it wasn't a black or gold fluted $80 would be a bare minimum and often these list start at $150+.

Hi David
Nice find, I believe a somewhat uncommon model and very cheap. I'm thinking more than Roger, maybe $200/$250 at a guess . I don't recall seeing one for sale .

Hi Hugh,

Suspect I have a blue and an orange, maybe a green at my website. Not sure I've had a red before...

FWIW, I paid $150 for mine in 2007. It was in mint condition but had originally been a rollerball as it had the little spring in the end of the barrel that prevented installation of the piston-type converter. Removal was a trivial task, making the pen a 100% fountain pen configuration. I thought that was a good buy at the time, although certainly not a sumgai price. So you did very well, Sumgai!
