Here's what I brought home from Dallas. One vacumatic, one very nice pen and four cheap green pens. David, could I impose on you to identify the vac for me. Date code is 1946, length capped is 5.0" and barrel diameter is .48". The clip is not a blue-diamond type clip, just a feathered arrow. I am guessing that it is a Standard but I would like either confirmation or correction. It writes very nicely considering that it's an extra-fine nail. It gives a nice thin but wet line.

The vacumatic:

Then I had a long chat with Andy, he is considering a new series derived from the LM1. These would be a deeply engraved guilloche pattern on a solid color plastic pen, initially black but other colors could follow. He loaned me several prototypes, please look at the pictures below and reply to let me know what you think of them. Tentative plans are to produce one of these depending on feedback; pricing is estimated to be $700 if the chosen design has plain end caps or $750 if the end caps are engraved.
No. 1, Medium Diamond Pattern, Plain end caps

No. 2, Medium Diamond Pattern, Engraved end caps

No. 3, Large Diamond Pattern, Plain end caps (engraved end caps are also possible but prototype was not made)

Hi Bill,

The Vac is a Junior (final style, 3rd gen, 1942-8 in USA). I is a standard size pen. At this time, standard sized pens could be had as Junior or Major, different in trim (clip and ring) and subtly in nib size.

Pretty pen in Azure.
