I stopped on a whim while on the road today at a store I've had good luck with before. One of my rules for pen hunting is "always ask". Today reminded me of why. The guy pulled a bowl of pens from under the counter. These came home with me.

1. Vac (in correct box? Gold one))
2. 3-25? (with Feathertouch nib, feed and section inside)
3. Black 500 Balance
4. Brown short 875 Balance
5. Shiny Estie J
6. Junior lifetime minus cap (Onward cap above was on this)

It's always nice to see some old pens paroled from the store for good behavior and rehabilitated.

Wow. Nice haul! I just went into an antique stores for the first time, found 5 no name cheap pens, and one green J Esterbrook (if that's the right model, don't own an Estie) for $15 lowered to $10 that I passed on. Wish I could find some boxes Parkers or something.

You have to go into antique stores a lot if you ever want to find anything good. I've had some excellent finds but, it is work and putting up with the best pen in the place being an Esterbrook (not really all that bad) or an arnold or wearever. A nice boxed Parker would be remote and likely pricey. I think you do better on the non pocket pens like desk sets but, they too can go from deals to "it ain't made of gold bricks!"
