No doubt it was part of a set. The bail is often a giveaway for knives that were part of knife/pen sets.
Needs some blade refinishing to fix the poor sharpening attempt with an electric kitchen knife sharpener.
At quick glance I think the original manufacturer was Schrade Cutlery Company, although Remington is another possible candidate.
