Always interesting when they come with sockets way later than the original issue. Quite correct in my opinion as I believe that Sheaffer held desk bases in inventory until they were ready to ship at which point they were matched to a socket and pen. The set you show is a 112 which would place it about 1931 though yours shows a 1940 setup however you've got the wrong pen with it (not the jade but, the section). Mine is sitting with the wrong pen as well. I think yours would be the second one I've ever seen.
