Hey thanks all,
Yeah, my mom loves to go antiquing and she knows me and my pens…. I've been into them long enough that she has developed an "eye" for a deal. She recently went on a trip to Boston and must have done some antiquing there. She went for work along with my Dad. On her way home stopping at a few shops. The above photo, she tells me, came from one store for about $20 bucks a pen.
She also got a couple more, apparently; of what she calls "vacuum thing-a-ma-jigs, you know, the ones you like." I just got off the phone with her. WIll update soon.

From the photo she gave me, I doubt it, looks like a Demi Blue Cedar

Nice! Where did she find them? Enquiring minds want to know!
Boston. Go quick! She said that she couldn't look anywhere (in the junk shops) without seeing a pen. She had about an hours worth of shopping to do and probably only 10 minutes of that devoted to pen pickin'.
If only Pendom had private jets for us…..

I went through a few of them. Most will need the "works" to sell. Michigan Pen Show anyone??
Here's what is pictured from left to right
- P51 Demi Blue Cedar
- Esterbrook J Green with 2662 nib
- Snorkel Palladium f4
- no name
- Newtop>no too familiar, also has very strange nib
- Waterman 452 set, w/ factory stubby nib, great flex. I'll be using that on some up coming lettering jobs
- no name
- Waltham Button filler
- Salz Bros. lever filler - (I've only owned salz BHR pens in the past)
- Sheaffer Triumph Vac - i think very cool, the striations are very skewed on the cap, will show picture
- Skyline, looked like standard size
- Moore, celluloid depression era my guess
- Waterman Ideal w/ a nice 2A nib
** not pictured initially is a Parker Vacuum Filler that my mom found as well at her last stop. She told me that she remembered the striped patterns on many of the pens I have in my collection and that she couldn't pass it up. Looks like an early opaque silver.. Would this be a Vacuum Filler Senior? I think it might, although that was the only size (at first) if I'm not mistaken. With the "arrow together" two-toned nib.
If/when David sees, I wondered if the Vacuum Filler nib came into production only when parker introduced the lower priced Junior Vacuum Fillers?

that nib with the feathers together like that is correct for a vacuum filler.
great finds

Yeah, if you've got the Vac book, check out pg 57 and pg 69. I don't know what else there is to go by, but to reference it the "Vacuum Filler" nibs were introduced with the junior model and the top line had the two tone. I am not sure how long the "feather together" stayed in existence.

Nice find! My dad has found me some nice pens in the past, but nothing quite as good as this hoard. I am especially fond of the Vacuum Filler. I don't have one in that style yet. The Waterman set is quite nice too.
I don't know about that! I think I recall your dad tripping over a Mini/Junior/Sub-Maxima.... maybe a P51 1st year wedding band.... we have cool parents.
That's great though, my mom sends me text messages while she is antiquing and every once in a while; she blows my mind.

This is true. I think I'm just envious of that Vacuum Filler.
