I think it's made out of wood but it might be hard rubber or some other kind of plastic..

Thanks. So is this bottle 1924 or earlier? And was it cheaper than a glass bottle? Was it intended to be a portable ink supply? Was it a student ink container?
It seems it is later than 1924 although I always though it was earlier...

Three varieties to the Skrip script: white, gold, and 14K. Safety Skrip, meant to be a traveling ink bottle. You should peruse the Sheaffer catalogs in the PCA library.
I checked all the catalogs available at the PCA but did not find anything, but it is possible I looked into the earlier ones, I will verify the later ones...
