Great find. Vaguely recall this one is called Cocobolo, though the actual wood to my eye is darker.

This is a significant pen.

Something else that was a bit curious was that the pen is numbered #75, however is larger than a typical number 5 pen.

This was the BIN $125 from ebay. Someone got lucky... wanna double your money?

75 was the largest Lebouef in that series, if I am correct.

This is a LeBoeuf #75 Unbreakable model made around 1925 in Springfield in CocoBolo pattern celluloïd. This is one earliest models -with black ends- made from Leboeuf. The number #75 (engraved on the end of the barrel) is just the code used by LeBoeuf for its oversize pens, the nib #8 and the long section are correct for your pen.

Beautiful pen.

What a beautiful pen...congrats!!! That's a great find!!!

I have the exact barrel, nib, section and feed in the 8 size. Does anyone have a cap? We could marry them :^ ) (I sent the barrel to Bruce Speary, years ago, but his cap didn't match the color)

Best,
Michael Quitt

Hi David,
You might think this is an odd query, however I have lost track of a LeBoeuf that I think I sent to AZ for repair.
Would you possibly know who would perform such work ?

Hi Dave,

Thanks for dropping in. No discussion is "old" if someone has something new to add :)

I'm not sure I follow your question though. You want a recommendation for restoration work on a LeBoeuf, or you cannot recall to whom in AZ you might have said sent pen? Offhand I know at least one serious restorer in AZ. If that's the question do drop me note backchannel at isaacson@frontiernet.net
