College Acceptances

I received news from my colleges that I applied to, and my admits are:
Princeton
Yale
Columbia
Dartmouth
I am really ecstatic about these prospects and about my future. I never thought that I would be able to have my pick of schools from the ivy league!
Just wanted to share the good news. I really think some of my writing in Stylus Magazine and some college essays about vintage fountain pens put me over the edge. Who knew: pen collecting helped me out in the "real" world haha.
Regards,
George

That news is huge
Congrats and then some. Getting into multiple Ivies is no small feat.
My time at Princeton was a grand experience. Knowing you through our pen show meetings, I suspect you'd be very happy there. An opportunity of a lifetime. And, if you go there, you can have lunch with Kirchheimer, just down the road. You'll have to let us know what you choose.
regards
David

Well, I finally got into college. Many of my fellow FPB members do not know I am only 18 years old, so this might come as a shock to most

Congratulations, as everyone has said, you have done exceedingly well...........and now the World is your Oyster!!!
Take this from one who knows........as my days as a student were short, having to leave high school to help keep the family........the joy of being the eldest of five! (in the early 60s)
But I did night school much later, whilst I was in a career I loved, and then also did part time BA Social Science with Hons. right after that. Education is the best thing we can give ourselves.........and you are on the very special road to success that you can't even start to imagine yet.
Where will this world be in twenty years from now? What is your final aim - such excitement!
Enjoy it, be true to yourself, push your limits with wisdom - and who knows!!!!
We will be able to say - we knew of George before he became famous!

Great George!
It was thirty years ago today... (wow...). I was aproved in entrance examinations (here in Brazil we pass by a huge set of tests) to the best University here. In my luggage, a pen which serves me during twelve years before, a FABER ESTUDANTE (made in Brazil... estudante is the portuguese word for student, a medium sized piston filler...).
During the first year, the "old" mate became to leak on the ink level window. The death of my old and good mate was very sad. A pen called "ESTUDANTE", died in an university "campus". It was a holly object and need to rest in a holly field.
I dig a little hole near by a Library and buryed it...
It was three years ago today... My son was aproved in entrance examinations to the same school and the same career... In a lucky strike, I found a mint FABER ESTUDANTE (this one is a demonstrator...) and gave to him. Some facts need to be familiar traditions ;-)))
Congratulations boy!!! And a brilliant future for you!!!

Let me add my congratulations. There are many things that I could say, but others have said them all so I will simply add my congratulations for a job well done and my best wishes for what I know will be a brilliant future.
And I have no doubt that fountain pens have played some role.
Cheers,
Rick
