Hello All,

I picked this up yesterday and was hoping to get some feedback from the more learned out there. Looks to be a coin filler. Has the Harris nib. The clip is what concerns me. Any thoughts?

Dunno,

But as fate would have it, I just grabbed a big Harris overlay on ebay. Can at least compare the clips

Now at least I know who was bidding against me on that J. Harris gold overlay!
I have more than 30 J. Harris pens and I have never seen a clip like that one.
the nib "warranted / 4 / 14 kt" is pretty standard.

Nothing personal ;)

It just caught my eye. I was surprised that my low bid carried.

Do post some images of your collection.

Do you have any info on this manufacturer?

david

The clip on David's picture is the same one I have seen on the few examples I've found online. Now to find a replacement!

That overlay is quite nice, btw!

Hi,

The clip doesn't look like anything I've seen either. Here is my subcollection of J. Harris pens. I only know they were a local New York brand. They seem to be of relatively good quality. Many of the nibs are warranted but some are signed. The one's I've seen are all 14K.

I wonder about the number on the cap. I've never seen a J. Harris pen with such a number. Could it possibly be a Waterman cap?

Sorry, I should have specified. The number is on the end of the Harris-imprinted barrel.

I see why you collect them. I'd be pretty tickled to discover a St.Clair (or Sinclair, for that matter) branded pen out there, and would certainly try to snag every one that I could.
Welcome to the board, by the way.
