I think it's a late one but has its charms for me. The sort of Balance shape and mainly the amazing Celluloid pattern.
My humble photo doesn't do justice(gotta stop using these quick and dirty iPhone photos) to the translucence and general varied hues of this plastic!!

How come my photos are so small? I shrink them to 100K but they end up tiny when I post them. I need a tutorial on posting them.
My photo bandwidth is basically gone and you all have giant easy- to -see photos while mine aren't.
HELP PLEASE!

Ok so off topic but,

Hi JIm,
Some nice pens, thanks for sharing.
I suppose the most important question is... why the heck are you wasting time posting on pen fora, when you could be fixing more of my fountain pens???
OK. OK. I'm just giving Jim some grief, since he does great pen restoration work and happens to have a few of my old pens on his desk even as we speak. Posting on pen fora is a good thing, no doubt.
As to photos...
Your pics are appearing as thumbnails. Clicking them does pop them up to full size, so they are viewable at decent size.
The thumbnail effect is the result of attaching photos to individual posts, one of two options for storing images directly on FPB. and actually the less powerful approach. I'm not sure why the attachments post as thumbnails not full images; no doubt it is a setting buried somewhere in the control panel, but I've not seen an easy way to change that.
Too, the attachments to posts are capped to 500kb total storage. Once you've loaded a few small images, you will have to delete some before adding more. Not good for presentation of material and fair hassle for user.
However, at top of the Board is a tab called GALLERY. GALLERY moves you away from FORUMS to a photo storage unit offered by FPB. It is one of the gifts of this board. Each member can create a personal ALBUM in GALLERY, one which allows uploading of images. Too, the GALLERY has some pre-constructed ALBUMS (with more to come) based on pen type. Those too can be used. Once an image is uploaded to GALLERY (there also is a text posting box on the upload page to allow descriptions, but that really isn't necessary to use at length since most images have descriptions provided by contributor when placed in a thread), it can be shared in any post. Each personal Album offers 25 MB of storage. If/when people exceed that, we will see about expanding.
Once image is in an ALBUM and is being viewed in that ALBUM, one can share the image by using one of three "share image" options at right of photo. The ideal one is the BBC CODE. Simply paste that line of text into any discussion post, and once the post is launched, the image will appear in-line. No need then to use the photo icon in the posting box, as the BBC Code includes the tags that would normally be provided by the photo icon. Other options include link to picture and possibly html code, but those won't show the image directly once the post has been launched.
If planning to go back and forth between Album and Forum while creating threads/posts, probably it is best to keep a window/tab open for each.
Feel free to ask further questions, and by all means play with ALBUM. It really is a useful thing.
regards
david

John Holland is another great pen brand I don't collect. However, one did manage to fall into my collection a number of years ago.

Burgundy/Marble plastic is always good looking, but those amber flakes take this to another level.
Thanks for sharing,
Dan

Peek at some pens from the 100 pen hoard.
There were three Hollands in the bunch, this one probably the most significant.
It's a small ringtop in decent shape, a hatchet filler with nice smooth-pattern gold-filled overlay.

Shh... Don't tell em I'm doing repairs I'm already starting to get some Binder overflow stuff and I'm not ready to be deluged. Got a bunch of yours done however.
Going to post an anomaly I found today. watch for it, it's pretty funny.
YEAH ALBUM!!! I've tested the way it works and will stick all my photos there from now on. Everyone should read your tutorial above and USE IT!
or maybe I'm the only numb nut who wasn't using it?
