Some time ago I acquired a lot of beautiful large new old stock pen bodies.
Bodies, because they came to me without nibs and without clips.
The rest was complete, brand new, old unfinished stock from a forgotten Dutch Brand.
The pens showed no branding, except for just 1 piece that I will keep for myself…
That one has the brand name 'Pontiac' on the barrel.
On page 334 of Andreas Lambrou's book Fountain Pens Of The World,
Pontiac is in the large list of Dutch fountain pen manufactures, importers and locally assembled pens.
Actually a lot of these Dutch brands were assembled from parts that were manufactured mostly in Germany.
This lot was such an assembly brand.
I think this lot is (part of) an unfinished prototype series that has never been issued on the market.

The pens came in blue, green or golden brown, in a stunning herringbone pattern.
The blue pens were just a small quantity and I have just 2 left that I want to keep in my own collection.
The green and brown pens are available. I have 12 pieces of each of the 2 colors.
The pens never saw ink, and were obviously very well stored.
When I received them they were still in their original paper wrappers).
The rubber sacs of the pens where almost all still in a perfect condition.
In the few pens where the sacs were not 100% I changed them for modern silicone sacs.

I happened to have a small stock of clips that wonderfully fitted these pens.

Finally I completed the pens with nice new gold plated steel nibs of the right size, with a smoothly writing F/M nib.

Hey Lex,

These are an interesting bunch, I would be very interested in trying one out, if only my pocketbook felt heavier and those nibs were a bit more intriguing. What size nibs do these take?

Are there any blue ones?

Best regards from a friend! ;)

Hi Jeffery,

Nice to read a message from you again, that was quite some time ago!

About the colors: sorry, all blue ones are sold out. At the moment I have just 8 brown and 6 green pens left. Considering the selling speed they could be gone within 6 weeks....
There are not coming any more after these, I believe that except for just a few other pieces that were sold individually by the guy I bought this lot from, I bought them all, I think these were all that were produced ever, about 90 pieces in total, 30 of each color...

Your questions:
About the nibs: for this price these are excellent new nibs. They make a very good combination with the (original) feeders in these pens. But ok, they're not vintage. I'm not sure about the origin, but they look awfully like German made IPG's, so they could be Jowo's with some OEM brand 'Paboluo' on it. I happened to have a small stock of these, enough for mounting them in these wonderful pen bodies.
I do have a very small amount of vintage nibs available that can be mounted. Vintage N.O.S. semi flex steel nibs for just a few bucks more and some excellent vintage used gold nibs for not just a few bucks more, but still for an interesting price.... depends a bit on the nib, but think about around us$80,--
Nib size is about no 4. (feeder is 6mm).

I cannot give any comment on the weight of your pocketbook... lol.

Maybe also interesting, I am willing to sell 1 or 2 pieces without a nib, so you can mount your own. Say US$ 35,-- ?
If you are interested or need to know more details, please mail: lexvangalenatgmaildotcom
Cheers, Lex
