i was too busy getting ready for my flight out of taipei and forgot about this auction on which i'd placed a low bid, thinking to raise it later (lesson learned--just go flat out and forget about it, especially when you're on the road).

methinks it's a single-jewel senior max, given the length and the speedline filler, and what appears to be a pretty fat barrel. the inscription is butt-ugly, but still.... so did somebody else got a good deal for less than $60?
an SJ senior max?

Hi Jose,
Although nib is not shown, although close up photography can distort images a bit, and although early 1942 "long" Major also can see speedline fill (though strangely, less often than for 1942 SJ Max), the pen does give off strong flavor of "Maxima"
As the seller Mike Carter, is a very (to say the least) experienced seller/restorer of pens, perhaps this slipped under his radar due to lack of fat band. On other hand, if it is 1942 "long" Major, still a nice find, with impressive personalization. Please do post follow up.
regards
David
