Well gang I'm hoping and praying that all of us mid west folks will still be able to say we have pen collections after this weekend! Quite a few tornadoes already being produced this afternoon and its supposed to only get worse throughout the night. So good luck fellow pen collectors from the Mid West!

Hi Preston,

Hope all turns out as best as possible for all those affected . Some of the TV footage of late re these tornadoes has been difficult to comprehend...buses flying around like bits of paper, that's scary stuff.

I'm in E Texas and the southern tip of that storm is just now entering the are. It just started pouring down rain, no thunderstorms yet. Yesterday was very windy, winds out of SE and strong, about an hour ago I noticed that they had shifted to out of NW and cooling off quite a bit. From earlier weather reports we have the potential for some damaging storms.
Regards

Well now that the weekend is drawing to a close, I can let you know there were 97 tornadoes produced by this storm system. The tornado (EF-3) which caused the most damage was last night and was on the ground for over an hour. Thankfully for me at least, the tornado went to the north of my house. It wiped out a mobile home park (as they usually do) and then also damaged all of the buildings (some very serverely) at Spirit Aerosystems which is the main employer in the Wichita area (my father works there) and it will be closed for at least 2 days. Thankfully no one was killed and remarkably few injured. This is primarily due to the tremendous TV and radio coverage by the local stations. Several of the local TV stations were continuously covering the storm situation for over 13 hours straight.

Thank you all,

Preston
