This year’s Chicago Pen Show, now sponsored by the fine lines of Omas, Sheaffer, Aurora and Montegrappa from Kenro Industries, as our major sponsor, is fast approaching - May 4,5 and 6, 2012. We would also like to thank other sponsors, the Gregory H. Sachs collection; Pendemonium; Anderson Pens; Total Office Products; Judd Perlson’s Ebay Store and Century Pens.

Following are some general announcements. First, the room block ends on Friday, April 20, 2012. If you are planning on attending and have not booked your room please do so right away. I will hold a block of rooms in my own name for swapping out later to protect late registrants. To make reservations either use our web site or call 847-698-6000 and ask for the pen show rate.

The auction catalog is finalized at least as to 95% of the slots. I left a few slots open for some nice items I am expecting to receive shortly. And for the first time ever, we should have the catalog up on our web site later this week (www.chicagopenshow.com). Pictures of auction items began being added to the site in January and while some of the pens pictured have been withdrawn and others have yet to be added, the pictures on our site are accurate as to about 90% of the pens in the auction. Highlights of the auction include the best Onyx Patrician I have ever seen, a unique early silver eyedropper with high relief, Parker Duofold Sr. Mint in Box blue on blue pen and pencil; mint stickered Parker Duo. Sr. Red and Parker Vac set with stickers in early box. I will highlight more items later.

Table reservations keep coming in every day and I believe the wall tables are spoken for but we still have some interior tables available. Again, anyone wishing a table should download the form from our web site, fill it in and send it on to Dan. Due to the fact that this year we are back on our regular dates, the dealers who had to miss last years show due to conflicts are back in full force, including FPH and Bittner’s. And we have a number of new dealers/collectors setting up this year.

The schedule is being finalized and will up on our web site this week. A new presenter this year, will be W. Pendelton Brown, nib expert extraordinaire.

So things are really shaping up for this year’s show! We hope to see you here soon!

Wish I could attend, but my foot surgery is still on-going!
