I am not at all sure with what brand this pen is, so i just had to buy it, i know for sure (i think) its not Waterman, but could be a Wahl, but no Wahl nib. So im stuck thinking what this is before i receive it...

I'd say it is an Ever-Rite.

I doubt it is sterling or gold filled - it is just too low level of a pen. The warranted nib is a surprise but, it might not be original.

Yes, most ringtops in general are gold filled if they were made by a quality maker - I've had over 200 of them but, this is made by a low quality third tier maker. Could be aluminum or silver filled or very thin gold filled that has worn off to some silver colored base layer.

This wasn't quite all of them but, it was close - Sheaffer, Boston Wahl, Mabie Todd, Edward Todd, Eclipse and a couple others.

It's got to be either aluminum or silver, its a slip cap, 14k Warranted nib. It's dirty, and i could probably clean it, and it reminds me or rust, but im pretty sure it will come off if i clean it. But like silver, i dont wreck the patina...

If it isn't marked as silver, it probably isn't. While I have not done hard research, I suspect metals besides aluminum were used often, maybe overwhelmingly on old flat-top metal pens. This pen would be awfully light were it made from aluminum.

Ingersoll was using aluminum. Don't know what else would be white and cheap.

Dunno. Tin? Base metal with chrome plating?

Does Aluminum rust?

If you define rust as an oxide then yes, Aluminum rusts but very slowly.

Im not sure, looks definitely like it has been used, and like the ebay auctions on these pens, it was gold plated at one time. Ive got a few aluminum pens, and there is no rust, and it gets pitted from ink before it rusts.

I doubt this was ever gold plated. The design was roll stamped onto it and it is not hand engraved. It is very like Ingorsoll pens.
