Let's not muck around, nothing flash here just a cheap and surprisingly nice Chinese pen.

Era: Probably '70's
Filling system: Piston
Nib: "gold" coloured with tipping material, chinese logo, medium
Construction: Plastic, metal cap band (? gold coloured anyway), SPRING LOADED clip and threaded cap.

This is a lightweight pen and definitely has that "cheap" feel but that said the build quality is very good. What surprises are the spring loaded clip (ala Sheaffer.. I like clips that work!!) and the way it sits in the hand, add to this a decent nib that, again, reminds me of Sheaffer being firm and smooth. The feed looks impressive with plenty of fins !!. The cap threads on smoothly with a bit over one turn.

The truth is this pen performs much better than it's humble origin suggests and better than a lot from some well known makers, a real surprise packet. So will I be carrying a Ta Tung 707? Come on...I'm a pen snob...it's a cheap Chinese pen...albiet a very good one. Remarkable really.

Regards
Hugh
