For those not familiar with the Korean faker, read David Nishimura's blog posts about him here:

http://vintagepensbl...ew-ebay-id.html

It appears the Korean Faker has a new new name, sunpawel . This first year 51 set below is very well faked. He has a lot of key details down, though not all of them.

Scary.

Can you elaborate on what is wrong for those of us like myself who are not experts?

I'd suggest caution as the faker(s) read the forums.

I'd suggest caution as the faker(s) read the forums.

What is the implication of that statement? Would there be anything discussed in a forum that would be actionable in a legal way?

The, faker, realizes their error and corrects it. Making it harder to tell from a photo if the pen is fake.

The implication is if the knowledgeable members point out what details are wrong, then the next version of fakes will not have those errors.

I will not. (For the reasons stated.)

So tell me what do you see wrong with this set, I have been selling 51s to Sun for over 4 years always thought he was up and up

Nor will George (Again for the reasons stated.)

Those caps look wayy off, two totally different caps on each item.

The pen cap and pencil cap are a match, the pen cap is about all that appears to be correct.

Minimal caution should be fine ;)

Giving too many clues is a risk, but I wouldn't worry about a grumpy faker at least.

The faker is welcome to post his views too. Should be... interesting.

Ah, thanks. The statement seemed quite cautionary, and I took it to mean it would have ramifications for the poster themselves. I can see your point.

The ware on the two caps are totally different, showing that it's true he buys junk P51's and use the caps.

Why would different caps indicate "junk 51's" as a source?

Do characterize what is totally different about the two caps

What is "ware"?

Im thinking caps, a side note from jewels that David N. suggested;

http://vintagepensbl...rean-fakes.html

The patina on the caps are totally different on the recent P51 listing.

Interesting how a bit of light polish can alter patina. The pencil in my gem set below was polished. The pen not. Amazing the different patina. Neither cap came from a junker pen,

How are "caps" a side note to David's posts?

And, you have not addressed why these caps are from "junker" 51's.

Because David said that the jewels were salvaged from single jewel pens. Junkers i meant as him taking one part, and not using the rest of the pen. Not necessarily meaning the caps are junk, just meaning the barrel may of been broken/cracked/etc, and unusable.

Barring minority exceptions, top jewels are the same on single and double jewel pens.

How do you know a pen taken apart was a junker and unusable?

It looks as if the watchdogs have driven our fraudster to sell using the eBay account he formerly used just to buy. I've already updated my pen blog, so anyone Googling "sunpawel" will find out soon enough the whole story.
