I am selling my Unimat SL200 lathe. I thought I would post it here before Craigslist
The lathe has a 3 jaw chuck and a nice 4 jaw independent chuck The 2 chucks sell for nearly $100 each. Includes face plate, grinding wheel holder, conical spindle for buffing (egads) compound of course, live center, the bearings are brinneled but that just makes them noisy it works fine, another compression type tool holder for cut off jobs, reprint of owners manual. The 90 watt series wound motor runs well to convert to hp 746 watts = 1 hp. I will throw in some tools as well not a lot but enough to get started. It also converts into a mill/drill press. I have all of the parts but the column is missing I never had it . I think they run about $30.
This machine also comes with a carrying case the entire unit weighs about 18 lbs. This lathe is well supported with tons of information on the web the even have a network similar to the Fountain Pen Board. It is not a toy you can cut mild steel with it but plastic and hard rubber are easy for it.
If you want to see it on the web google emco unimat Model SL. I will leave it here for a week and if it is still in my shop off it goes to Craigslist

This is a great lathe for someone wanting to get into large work with pens. If I haven't invested a small fortune in craftsman/Dunlap atlas 101's I would jump on this. It is a solid item, and I still kick myself for missing an earlier model like this at auction a few years back .

I truly wish I could make you an offer. I'm so broke I had to borrow money from a friend to keep the lights on.

I came within a hairs breath of getting them off the ground. I have my prototype, case/holster, display, craftsmen and women and the sources for all materials in place. I am ready to go into production, I only lack placing the first orders and the $3K to pay for it and to start production.

Here are a few pics of what I've accomplished so far.

Better yet, here is a link to my photobucket album for The Savage Pen Company. In addition to this I have several journals filled with designs and product ideas. It's kind of been my dream for a long time. I've gotten so very close a couple of times, but lack of cash and proper lathe skills to do them myself (high school shop was a long time ago) knocked me back to flat/zero.

FWIW, I'm interested in any comments or questions anyone may have about what you see on that page.
