This could be a third such pen w/ pale barrel stripes. It is early, like the one above; note the "gothic arch" blind cap. Probably ambered, but the stripes look subdued to me. Can't figure out the ring between the barrel and blind cap, however (see first picture in the listing).

Maybe these early stripers are a thin layer of striped/clear material laminated to a clear layer instead of stripes that go all the way through? On second thought, based on the photos earlier in the thread, I think these pens lack the black layer that should be present on one side of each brown stripe. Get out your stripers (vac-fil only) and a hand lens and take a look.

Wow!! That is some nib!! Congrats!!
Did you see the nib in the auction pics or was this pure luck?

I did not see the nib in the photos, it was pure luck. I actually thought I was getting an OS pen and was quite disappointed when I unpacked it and found the standard size pen. I got over it once I uncapped it.
The pen has returned from a restoration by Gerry Berg and is now inked and writing well. The nib is lots of fun. I ended up swapping the nib/feed/section over to a black pen with very nice clarity.
