Since I'm living away from my collection, I carry Lamy Safaris until I just found this TWSBI that I really like. I used to keep some vintage here with me, but the rule of living in developing countries is don't bring anything you can't afford to lose. Also, vintage pens fly poorly, as soft sacs tend to expel ink during pressure changes.
I tune the nibs of Safaris and TWSBI, and I have a hard time justifying buying a pen for $300-$400 after that.
When I'm home, I'll prep a vintage pen for purpose, then ink it and use it - then I clean it and return it. I don't usually carry vintage around in my pocket.

Please join the Mabie Todd Swan project where I am trying to sort out the undocumented mess that is American Mabie Todd's from the 1930's. The last pens that MT seemed to advertise were the "Eternal" pens, and then the company put out a wide range of different styles, shapes, sizes and filling systems before eventually closing up shop.
