Another reason (besides the massive library of old pen literature/catalogues) to join Pen Collectors of America. Rumor has it next issue of PENnant Magazine will have some nice black pens in it.

They are striped. Black stripes.
Indeed
Reminds me of the frequent emails I receive, asking if a black Vac is mismatch, since the Shadow Wave, "Long Windows", or typical ringed-clarity barrel in question is paired with a solid black cap. I point out that nearly all Vacs have different barrel and cap plastic, the barrels having "color + clear" the caps having "color + black". When the pen's color is black, you just can't see the black+black stripes of the cap, so it appears to be merely black. Think of all that wasted energy making black-on-black laminates for the cap. Seems so silly...

Isaacson
I thought you liked striped pens, or has Erano gotten to you?
Todd
Dude, I'm like first-fandom in the Society "which cannot be named". I probably have more black pens lying around than he does. Of course, I have a few more pens all told lying around, too
