I´ve had an happy day, yesterdayPosted ImagePosted Image. In my mind I think its the universe way of compensate me the fact that the day before I had a kidney stone come out in a painfull way Posted Image

The post man left in my mail box two new pens for my collection. Surprisingly they are in super shape and the 132 is even ready to write having the cork perfectly working. The 334 1/2 arrived without the nib, but I had a correct one at home and installed. Also, I've painted the engravings with a special golden wax I like. Still have to polish them a bit and take some minor scratches out and they will look almost as new.

All pens have now steel nibs from the WWII period, that I particularly enjoy and consider to par if not better than the gold ones. The ink windows are perfect, especially the 132 where the stripes are amazing!! Not asy to find a pen like this in this pristine condition.

I have a question for you guys about clip that is on the 334 1/2. I have seen this clip previously in other Mb's from the 3 tier line, but I am not sure if they are Montblanc ( I have another MB that arrived with this clip and I swapped it back then).

Can anyone confirm its a MB clip and if its correct to this pen, please?

Here are the pictures, hope you enjoy them. L->R MB 333 1/2 ( to compare clips), MB 334 1/2, MB 132

Congrats on the new acquisitions, they look very nice. As for the clip, I have no clue if it is original to the pen.

Wow, what a nice delivery! I, too, like the war era steel nibs. If you should find a piston assembly for a 333 1/2, please let me know... I need one.

Thanks guys. In the forum that I shall not name, there is a post where a member also has a similar Mb with such a clip. As I also have another one it, looks to me as evidence that this was indeed used by MB during the WWII Period where more luxury and better metals could not be used in Non war related production.

But I would still love to get a definite confirmation by anyone.

Christof, Penmex, any toughs??

What part of the piston you need? The external plastic rod, the internal screw... I may have. The 333 1/2 can uses the same piston that the 234 1/2 and I may have some parts available. Let me know in detail. Please use PM.

No idea. Sorry.
I doubt seriously that someone can say 100% sure. In the years of war, lots of available parts have been put together, without taking account in catalogs.
In case of doubt, I prefer to keep the pens as they come to me.

Thanks Christof,

Here I found more Montblanc 33X series with the same clip.
http://www.fountainp...riegsmodell.htm

Also a 232
http://www.fountainpen.de/old-232.htm

Sounds to me that there are to many pens with this clips from different sources not to be real Mb clips..... I wish I could find a catalogue picture with the clip!!

I agree, and find this to be an interesting topic. I have a war-time 234 1/2 fitted with a no. 2 steel nib. It was restored by Max at maxpens, who queried Stefan Wallrafen about the unusual nib, and Mr Wallrafen replied that during and even following the war such unorthodox combinations were possible, and that he himself had seen war-time 136s with 134 nibs mounted.

Are you targeting my posts??  :)  If yes, thank you!!! only means we have similar taste-

You are very welcome here, please consider remaining  and participating with us once FPN is online again. We do appreciate to have more members contributing to further develop this great site especially in the European pens sub-forums.

As to the clips I am convince that they are from MB, Since I´ve posted this thread for the first time, I have seen several MB with similar clips. To many to be just coincidence.

Please consider also presenting yourself in the Say Hello sub-forum.

I wasn't intentionally targeting your posts, only noticing that in each post I looked at, you posted some beautiful pens and I felt I had to comment.

And thank you for the kind welcome. I will indeed head on over to the "Say Hello" sub-forum for an official "hello" to the group.
