It's worth watching the whole programme if you can find it, absolutely incredible craftsmanship in the automatons.

I was lucky enough to go to a talk on automatons a couple of months ago by a couple who restore & build them, they showed several working, from the 1700-s on. None as complex as this though!

In January of 2012 CBS Sunday Morning did a piece on automata including the one that was the impetus for Hugo. It's at a museum that I'd love to visit.
