Mmmh, I don't know, it seems there is a Vacumatic imprint (but I'm like a mole ), I'm curious.
With that barrel and section, it has to be a Duofold.
David, I tried to count the feathers and I thought I came up with 8, or possibly 9. I know it should be 10 as a Duofold nib, but I don't recall the Duofold nibs being two-tone.

The 51 is an early vacumatic desk pen model, unfortunately not a red band.
The other odd pen has what seems to be a Duofold barrel and section yet a Vacumatic imprint and an 8 feather nib. So, what do I have here?
Is it a button filler? Can you post some better pictures?

The pen is a vac filler, and yes I will post pictures later.

As for the pen, do you think it is a frankenpen or something put together by Parker...... a prototype?
Thanks

Can you give us the full imprint, including date code? I think it's a stretch to be a prototype, because the early Vac prototypes were done on streamlined Duofolds and were not imprinted. See the one I have, below, which is identical to a couple shown in the Vacumatic book.

Hi,
Prototype tends to be an evil word in the Hobby, bandied about with abandon for too many patched together quirky pens. Of course that notion per se need not disprove prototypical status for any given pen, but usually it does
Your pen has a Vac imprint on barrel and has a plunger filler? So the issue appears to be the section...

I agree with David. It looks like someone figured out how to get a Duofold section into a regular Vacumatic barrel. Maybe they fit. I should try it...
Since my pen is basically a frankenpen, would it be worth it to remove the Duofold section and replace it with a regular Vacumatic section?

I just checked, and a Lady Duofold section fits in a 3rd gen Major barrel. To answer your question, it would be worth it if you already had the section. Otherwise you could probably just use the parts you have elsewhere.
