Besides the pile of Parker 180 Flighters shown above, the Janesville hoard contained several other Parker 180's. The 180 is a well made pen offering many finishes. The collector base for this series is not huge.  The one 180 I'll keep from this bunch is a cable twist finish shown below.   I don't follow 180's closely, so my unfamiliarity with it does not prove rarity. Still, I like it.

Can anyone offer any info on this one?  Description, age, rarity...

The finish is called 'Torsade' - not sure about an exact date - mora stylos sold one for 150 euros, shown here and there's another on ebay france here.

I had a modern Chinese pen with a somewhat similar nib, but the Parker...It looks like a letter-opener.

Hi Sailor,

Yes, the nib is characteristic of the 180 (see my earlier picture with the pile of Flighter variants). Two sided for two different point (Meidum and XF or Broad and Fine and so forth).

Interesting pens.

Thanks Quinden.

Torsade pattern then. Makes sense. The pattern does twist.

I pulled these two Parker 75's from the 30 or so Parker 75 FP's that were in the hoard.  As with the Parker 180, I don't do much with Parker 75's, though I previously had stumbled onto 1 for my collection (a boxed solid 14k Presidential) and I do grab them here and there for the website.

These two I hadn't encountered before. That, per se, means little, as I claim no expertise in 75's. I will need to peek at Lih-Tah's website to fill in some details.

Do I get the Ecossais as a prize for being so helpful?

This is about the most basic pens in the bunch; I still need to get to the good more modern stuff.

Parker Jotter ballpoints.

I do nearly nothing with ballpoints.

These are not early style.

What caught my eye were the vivid barrel colors.  Yellow, "Mandarin" Orange, Periwinkle, Fuchsia, etc.

When on occasion I see a Jotter, I'm used to seeing more somber colors.

Anyone know anything about these?  Routine?  Not?

If you can put up with the winters in Wisconsin it would be a nice place for a Parker collector to live.

Having been to my sisters graduation in Madison, in the winter, no thanks...BRRRRRR  TOOOOOO COLD.
