Greetings everyone! I am glad to be part of this group on FPB. It seems I have been collecting fountain pens earnestly since 1998. Previous to that I carried a Sheaffer PFM every day in college. It was a high school graduation gift from my grandparents. As a user pen, it is well worn now but still part of my collection of fountain pens. Back in 1998, the first pen I purchased for my collection was a Rotring with a steel medium nib. That pen got me started. My next purchase was another German pen, a Pelikan 400 with the green stripe barrel and the black cap. When I opened the pen box for the first time, I could not believe how elegant this piston filler pen is. I own many Pelikan pens now, both modern and vintage. My favorite vintage pen, however, is a Chilton Wingflow model with the K patterned gold inserts. This pen is a great writer. And for an elegance, the Wingflow is certainly up there with my Pelikan! That's my opinion anyway.
I am thankful for such a wonderful hobby. Certainly the pens are great to collect, but I also appreciate the many who share my interest. I am glad to attend pen shows to meet others in person. The FPB will serve in a similar way; I am happy to be here.
