Thanks David and Roberto, The detail I am happy about is the PINK nib!! I am concerned with the section, I was under the impression it had to be of the same color as the barrel...

Should it be or not??

David´s trained eyes also spotted another detail I was not aware off :)

The lever looks broken.  Can you repair box levers?  I sent my Waterman #5 Red Ripple to Henry Simpole it sounded far too complicated when I read instructions.  I have enough problems with a simple CS.  I just bought a Waterman and it came with a red nib but it's just plain black.  I assumed it was a replacement.  Will post it when I have finished tarting it up.

Nah, that's just Waterman's 2-piece lever! http://www.richardsp...les/ink_vue.htm There may be a bit of green corrosion in the joint.

The barrel stripes might have pretty good clarity; the one red stripe right of the lever looks closer to the cloth background than ambering.

My first generation standard Ink Vue also has a black section - not sure if a Deluxe should have a coloured one or not, however it is a nice pen that I would be very happy to own.

I have two Deluxe Ink Vue pens, and they have matching striped sections, my standard ones have a black section.  I looked through several books, and all the pictures seem to show striped sections for Deluxe and black for Standard.  But that isn't really proof, of course.  I wouldn't worry about it, in any case, looks like a nice pen and great nib.

Thank you all!

I am also under the impression the section should be colored. The pictures is not very good, but it looks to me not to be plain black, especially in the rim. Maybe I'll get a nice surprise this time and this section is what it should and is tainted with old ink...

Detailed pictures once I get the pen in my hands.

Well, I feel such a fool but at least I'm wiser now and won't make that mistake again.  I read Richard's site and the reason for the split lever and it makes sense.  My #5 just popped it's lever and after repair it popped again on first fill but Henry soon had it sorted.  In fact it was nearly back before it left me.  Posted Wed back fully repaired on Friday.  I was amazed.

Colored section possible but not necessary.  I've had them both ways. This is from a time when pens were made from parts on hand, and sometimes they were not always the same parts.

Some of the Ink-Vues have a very interesting feed.  Rather than a groove between the feed and nib, there is a cover over the groove, so that the ink meets the nib partway down. This allows you to dip the nib into ink only up to that point in the feed when filling...no necessity to get the section into the ink. Nice when it works.

I found this exact pen in Arizona on one of my buying trips; it came with the pencil, and had a pink nib too. The lady at the antique store wanted $40.00 for it/the amount that would fill up her car with gas, so it was an easy buy!

I must admit I have had to struggle a bit with Ink-Vue sacs, but then I found a way to put them in that works, so I now can do them easily.

Working today on pens, and all day tomorrow; no rest/stopping at the Minuskin Nib Shop for the holidays; all in the spirit of keeping my 2 week turn around time promise/customer service!

@Hirsch - Thanks, that info about the section is very interesting!!

@ Greg - That was a awesome buy even better than mine!!, although if I would fill her a gas tank here in Portugal I would spend a lot more (7,5USD /gallon)

That lever is not broken. It bends out to 90 degrees and acts as a pump lever to deflate the bulb. These are really bulb fillers in disguise.

Edit: Spelling.

It arrived!!

I´ve took it apart, cleaned all the parts, reassembled it and straighten the nib. Now I need to wait the sac I´ve ordered from UK  to arrive to install it and test the pen. It is is excellent condition and the barrel has a fabulous transparency. I was really lucky!!

It is a Emerald Ray Inkvue Deluxe with a Pink #7 nib. The section is in Black Hard rubber all the rest is celluloid.

Here are the pictures:

Is the triple band typical for the Deluxe?  I have two (with black sections) with a single stacked coin type band.
