Hi,

I thought I would join you happy band of pen collectors. My interest in pen and ink started 8 years ago when I was given a collection of Sheaffer, Esterbrook and Waterman fountain pens which were  found in the effects of my Wife's cousin after she died age 87.

I restored them all and started using them with a bottle of Mont Blanc black ink along with Waterman Aztec ink which were found with the pens. I'm afraid I was seduced with the advent of the ubiquitous ballpoint pen and bought a Parker flighter ballpoint which I used for many years.

Since restoring these fountain pens, I have easily made the transition and have accumulated several more vintage fountain pens from the first two decades of the past century.

So now I'm looking forward to reading your experiences.

Kind regards,

Pickwick

Pickwick

Those pens from your wifes cousin seem to be the best pens, to me.

It is the sentimental connection that makes it feel nice to use old family pens.

I have that feeling when I use my mothers fountain pens.

Hi ac12,

You are right, I write a lot of letters and using these pens transports me back to another era
