Hello all,

Just joined after lurking on the boards for a while. I'm from the Jersey Shore and am currently in graduate school for architecture in Rhode Island. I hope to finish that in a year and join a big city firm.

I've been on FPN for a while as MiamiArchStudent and on FPGeeks as well. So, some of you may have seen posts of mine.

I used to collect modern Montegrappa pens and a few OMASes, but have started to thin down those. My interests really lie in vintage Pelikans from the 30s to the 50s, especially the tortoise models, and Montblanc button fillers and piston fillers from the same period. I also have a Jade Parker Duofold Streamline that I've been meaning to restore that I absolutely love.

I look forward to being a member of the boards.

regards,

Kevin

Welcome Kevin,

I'm from Toms River and spent a great deal of time at Seaside Park back in the day.

You should find some kindred spirits here, given your collecting interest. Do stick around even after FPN eventually resurfaces.

regards

david

Thank you David. I'm from Sea Girt, if you know it.

I plan to stick around the boards here as FPN has too many crashes these days.

Welcome and great to see you on this site!

You will find the folks here at the FP Board really fun, knowledgable and down right the best in the business/collecting hobby. David, our fearless leader, is quite the fountain of knowledge but there are others who are equally as knowledgable and willing to give you a helping hand too. This is a very friendly site; I have noticed that for the most part, people here check their egos at the door, very refreshing     ;)

The crashes were so frequent at the FPN that I thought for sure the whole site was going to go up in a puff of smoke.

For sure, best to stick here; people here are wonderful, no "high five's" going on between moderators behind your back as they plot to either put you on a temporary suspension, or to ban you for life!

Gents,

FPN's website eventually will be stable again.  Let's have ya stay here because you find some good stuff to chat about and because you perhaps want to help build up a smaller place to help it  thrive, not just because the site didn't crash this week.  Of course, I might have a bias in this matter... ;)

regards

I will stay for sure :P

Bias  :o

I am biased too; will never forget the two "punishments" I received from a moderator at the FPN for posting a pen in the wrong place/wrong category. Thinking of the old phrase "burn me once, shame on you, burn me twice, shame on me."

Sorry about that. Didn't mean to put down the other site.

Thank you for the welcome Greg.

Oh,  no worries. Criticism here  of any site, including this one, is just fine. This isn't FPN, where we invisible you.  I just meant I'd like to see people stay to play even when the other place is back in the game.
