As an outsider looking in, I subscribe to the Mike Fultz philosophy regarding Esterbrooks

No, I shoot Bullseye and long range stuff.  Mike considered them as "beaters" .  I know they are robust and easy to repair and very colorful but they just don't start my engine.

I love many tier 2 and tier 3 pens.  Lipic, Diamond, Southern, and others just not Esterbrooks.  I usually only get them with a lot buy and then sell them for <$15

Early on I used to sell them to Susan Wirth for $5

I told my pickers to stop buying them. I simply don't want to deal in them, or 45's or 21's

"The Quintessential Esterbrook"?  Why, it's my mother's copper J that was the only fountain pen in the house that I was aware of, and was brought out at Christmas to be filled with green ink for Christmas cards in the late 50s and 60s.

 

(I MAY consider Adding Your Choice OTHER than these two to the poll if you are able to Convince me why it should be there.)

P.S.  Alas, in the 60s I took it apart to see if I could turn it into a Man From U.N.C.L.E.  ("Open channel D!") two-way radio pen, and the whereabouts of the parts are unknown.
