Does any fellow Brit know where to get Fountain pen friendly note books or A4 refill pads as there doesnt appear to be anything suitable in my local stores and our local stationers are not very helpful.

I can recommend Cult Pens http://www.cultpens.com/

They are one of the best UK-based online stationery retailers. They stock Leuchturm1917 notebooks and Rhodia pads and books, all of which are good for fountain pens. Service is super-fast, free delivery (generally next day) for orders over £10 and very good after sales service.

I understand you are in South Wales in the UK so if you want to see some examples in real life so to speak, you can get Rhodia from Rymans in Cardiff (as well as Clairefontaine). Pen and Paper in cardiff have a pretty big selection too.

I have bought pens from purepens, a web company based in south wales. The proprietor, Ross, is a good guy. They stock notebooks too.

Finally you may want to consider an "ARC" system from staples, the paper they come with is ok, but you can print your own templates (I use Staples standard 100gsm A4 paper satisfactorily).

Hope that helps.

You will need to contact them first - they sell via the web only and do not have a shop open to the public.

Good luck with your hunt for the perfect paper!
