Hello FPBoarders,

I have just placed this listing on the bay, for a rare vintage Filcao (or f.i.l.c.a.o., as it is written on the box lid and the bottle label), made in Italy.

The pen is perfectly new (I know because I bought it but never used it, only displayed), and would qualify as mint, only it needs a new sac for actual working service (as explained there, the original sac fosilized away and broke to pieces, therefore I have fully cleaned and carefully polished the inner tube for such replacement, just in case the new owner wishes a new sac installed).

The question is: am I right when I call it "the smallest functional pen in the world"? I just want to be completely honest with anyone who visits this listing of mine. I do know about that century-old doll-pen Waterman... but I doubt...

So please, you wise fountain pen people, is there some definitive way to leave my question solved for good? Share with us your knowledge

THANK YOU in advance, regards,

Pennipotens

There's a fountain pen (the world's smallest) that is basically so small it can write a line 100x thinner than a red blood cell. I would post a link to the page I found this info on although for some reason my computer is not letting me copy and paste things.

Also, I pretty sure the Waterman Doll Pens and "World Smallest Pens" can write.

The Waterman "doll pens" are fully functional, as is the miniature Duofold found in the end of a Parker Ultra Giant.

I have a Diamond Point Midget eyedropper that is 2.5" long and fully functional.

Peter Pan and Dinky pens are also pretty small and fully functional.

If you removed the old sac and went to all the trouble of polishing it ready for a new sac, why did you not just fit a new sac and sell it as fully working, that makes no sense.

Where do you find a sac that small?

This pen is certainly not as small as others mentioned but it is just 2.5 inches to the top of the ring in the cap. The body and barrel are about 2.3/8ths.  It is an eye drop filler, works and says Peter Pan on the nib and Salz Bros on the barrel.

Do we know what size it needs, once we know that the answer might be quite easy;)

One of the pictures looks like it has a cartridge converter.

One of the previous posters mentioned re-saccing it.  That's the only reason I mentioned it.  Are the Waterman dolls eye-dropper fill?

Yes, I believe the doll pens are eyedroppers.
