The metal cap is interesting. Typically they have a transparent plastic cap, like the one shown on the other PFM demo he listed. Both pens also have the transparent nib shell, rather than the black one that is also common to find on these pens.

If anybody goes for the metal cap one and wants the (correct?) transparent plastic cap, send me a PM. I believe I have an extra one in my parts box.

Doubt I'll win PFM Demos, but on outside chance I decided to make play, is your cap in good shape?

I've always had a PFM demo on my "to buy" list, although I'd much rather have the other PFM demo this guy has. I don't like cracks too much.  Also, his 51 demo seems to be NOS, I like that one too.

Also, to keep core point intact, the key concern for the referenced pen is that it likely is a marriage.  PFM Demos routinely have Demo caps. Whether one could have been released with metal cap with manufacturer intent, of course cannot be disproved easily, but that really doesn't matter.

I just dug it out. I'd call it fair to good... there are two stress cracks around the internal ring, just below the clip. Funny, my complete pen has two nearly identical cracks. The black mask has been removed except for a small patch under the clip. And the white don't is M.I.A. I suspect the first two issues can't be corrected but the white dot should be an easy fix. The plating and plastic are in fine shape and it is fully functional. Happy to post some images if you like.

Guess there's only the one now, the other was ended for some reason.

Could this be a factory Autograph demo?

His NOS 1948 Parker 51 demo is gone too... What a shame.

HI,

Not an Autograph. The lines around the cap-band are not c/w the smooth finish of a Signature cap-band. Too, Autograph would have wider band.

Still not a common pen David, I don't recall the last full demo Touchdown I've seen.

Your right David it does look thin, I know you have a half demo Touchdown but this is the first I have seen in a full demo with a Touchdown style filler.

I think it's the first TM TD demo any of us have seen, at least it answers the question about whether one existed !! .....I suspect this will sell well but more because of it's demo status than it's TM TD status which has a fairly small collector base, I also suspect there are two people here who want that "baby".....alas one ( the "wrong" one from my point of view) has a bigger pen budget.... :(

Hugh

Hugh,

Expected, maybe. The TM Touchdown went for around what I would have expected but the PFM went for well more then I would have expected given the issues. He had a bunch of nice Sheaffer's go off with a few more yet to go. The black and pearl Flattop telephone dialer was a nice piece too, first one I've seen in quite a while.

Pearce.

Hi Pearce,

As expected referred to the buyer, I suspect he's well known around !! Price wise I think it on the low side as it's the only TM TD demo any of us have seen and I would think the buyer had a fair bit more on it than it made, the reason I didn't bother pushing it.

Regards

Hugh
