Hi, my name is Jeph and I am an American living in Germany.  I have only been into fountain pens for a little over 6 months so I still have the zeal from everything seeming new to me.  German piston fillers are currently my favorite pens, which living here helps me out with immensely.   In the beginning I started focusing on fixing my own lever fillers, but now I greatly prefer vac fillers and pistons.  I mostly snatch up the crap German pens that nobody wants and try to restore them.  Sometimes I even succeed.  I also have to admit that every time I stumble across a new flavor of Parker I am impressed by the way that they are designed, built, and of course function.  My first true vintage pen was a Sheaffer craftsman vac so I have a soft spot for them as well.  I am not immune to bling, but I still get the most pleasure out of finding some obscure fountain pen that is well made and writes beautifully.

I have been skulking around here shamelessly absorbing knowledge so I thought that it would be appropriate to register.  Since I was registered, it is only polite to say hello.  I am mostly active over on FPGeeks, but I am not ashamed to post some questions here as well.

Welcome and great to see you on this site!

You will find the folks here at the FP Board really fun, knowledgable and down right the best in the business/collecting hobby. David, our fearless leader, is quite the fountain of knowledge but there are others who are equally as knowledgable and willing to give you a helping hand too. This is a very friendly site; I have noticed that for the most part, people here check their egos at the door, very refreshing           ;)

Hi Jeph!  My son lives in Germany and has for the past 7 or 8 years.  He now lives in Winnweiler but has lived by Heidleberg and Wiesbaden, too.  Great cities to all visit!  Welcome and enjoy the company on this fine site! On my last trip I wanted to score a Pelikan sooooo badly but didn't.  Went to a couple of flea markets, but no success.  Keep us posted on your endeavors!

Randy
