...for someone who sands down the Parker 51 barrel/blindcap joint this severely?

I was thinking he ought to be slapped with a running belt sander or suffer an eternity of frequent jabs with an XF nib.  But Ernesto just said he ought to be shot!

I have a buckskin that is similarly "tapered" at the blind cap/barrel joint, and no I have not sanded it down myself. Wonder what the probablities of two of these out there.

I unfortunately see more and more that have been 'recently restored' using this technique. Even more common are 'professionally removed' barrel engravings.

I prefer unrestored pens.

I have no problem with engravings, viz. my signature: they give a pen some humanity.

I do have a problem with pens defaced like this one has been.
