I'm so glad you are back I really enjoy your remarkable drawings and some of the definitions are hilarious but please, please don't use that J Herbin Ambre ? cos I just can't read it. Love the purples though especially Purple Heart.

I agree. A match made in heaven but I still prefer the burgundy. I like that ink so much I am going to order some.
Not only are your definitions amusing and exquisite to look at they are also educational.
I had no idea what Seidlich powders were but now I am familiar with the blue and white and even what they were used for.

Widget: Just to clarify, the definitions are not mine, they belong to Ambrose Bierce. The sketches are mine; they are my interpretation of the definition. I, myself, have learned a lot by reading and researching the definitions. I am very humbled by this 19/20th century journalist's knowledge.
Well. This one took me a while to come up with... and in between there was the DC Pen Show. Anyways, the word is INVENTOR. I wanted to come up with something Rube Goldberg-esque. It is a snow-melting machine. (I am still traumatized by this last winter.). The pen is an Arco Omas Princess. The scan does not do that beautiful celluloid any justice whatsoever. The quill pen is one of my new acquisitions at the DC Show. I used it to draw in the black lines. Two more words and we go to the letter "J." Enjoy!

It would be an honor if this thread were pinned. Wow!
Today's words are JEALOUS and JEWS HARP (Those mouth harps are most interesting objects.) These words mark the last of my Omas Princesses. Alas... wishing to find the last one. They are the cutest little pens. I am including a picture of the small crowd of princesses. The celluloids are in this order: Scarlet Red, Pearl Gray, Saft Green, Arco Green, Arco Bronze, and Senape Blue. The missing celluloid is Blue La Royale.

You have an uncanny knack of perfectly matching the ink to your pen. One of my favourite colours is grey (only certain shades) and you have some lovely grey shades in this last 1 yet the ink is called midnight blue. Do you dilute to get those lovely shades. I knew you didn't write the definitions and although I find them amusing I tend to get more amusement from your delightful drawings. The Scots man was a treat loved his hairy legs. And what about that elegant Afghan hound you could draw peoples pets. My late husband used to paint in ink and I had him paint pictures of my top winning pugs and chihuahuas. The one he did of my English Champion pug was particularly impressive but my favourite was of my friends Champion Chi. He did some amazing work but they never had any humour.

Widget: Glad you are enjoying the thread. I am too... and the pens... and the ink. It has been very educational.
Today's word is JESTER. This is the first of a few pens I picked up at the DC Pen Show. This is on of Ryan Krusac's creations. He does wonderful work with scrimshaw, and mother of pearl inlays. You can find him here: Link.
