It would be interesting to see that head on to see how it's attached. It's not like there's a lot of material back there to thread.

I've seen others similar to this. While I don't know where or who has done it, it isn't a difficult thing to do. One drills out the barrel inserts a plug and then tools the end to be correct. I've done it with an all black pen for a client.
