I just purchased this pen for a modest price ($30ish) because I loved the plastic - sucker for 30's art deco looking pens.  At first I thought it was just someone's lower-end knock-off Parker (arrow clip).  But the more I look at it, it has a decent jewel, a decent clip, a nice cap band, and even an internal metal band inside the cap - which I've not seen in any pen yet in my short pen history.  Lots of detail for a third tier pen.  I'm doubtful the nib is original, but who knows?  On closeup, the nib appears to say 2101 in stylized script.  If anyone is familiar with this pen or nib or anything, please post and let me know!  Thanks in advance!

You could try e-mailing Ryojusen Pens to see if he has any info. [Not to make my first post here a suggestion to go elsewhere--but that guy seems like he'd know, if anyone does.] Tho it's probably one of those Japanese pen companies who (it seems) have no real history. Or little that'll lead you anywhere, i guess.

Nice find (and a pretty pen), by the way.

Hi Randy,

Looks Japanese to me.  There were numerous Japanese knock offs of Parkers.  If I remember, I will try to bring some to the meeting tomorrow night.  There were also Indian pens that had the Parker type Arrow clip, but for some reason this one seems to be Japanese, as the prior poster mentions.  I have not seen the Special clip before, but have seen Sea - Gull (Japanese lever and aero fillers - link here) with "Special" on the nibs, and pressure bars.   Perhaps a relative?

Thanks Phil and inBOIL, I'll definitely bring it to the meeting - a conversation piece if nothing else.  The nib also seemed quite flexible.  It hasn't been restored and is a pretty nice shape - I can tell the sac is hard as a rock.

For those of you interested in this post, we had our local PENS meeting and Phil brought his Japanese pens that said "Special" somewhere on them.  Each of them had the same internal cap band that mine had.  I think I will call this case closed... if it looks like a Sea Gull.. quacks like a Sea Gull... maybe it's a Sea Gull.  Thanks for sharing your collection Phil!
