Yesterday, I received a Waterman 14 in fine silver in the mail.  I now have five of the fine silver eye dropper filled Waterman's, so I thought I would show my mini-collection off.

The new pen is the second pen from the right - a 14 with clip.  The three pens on the left are 12's, the right two are 14's. The thickness of the overlay varies quite a bit. The overlay on the 12 with clip (pen in the middle) is thin almost like foil - in fact a small section appears to be missing on the barrel. None of the overlay patterns are the same, although they are all what is generally called "art nouveau", I suppose. The pen on the very left has an interesting nib:

Several of these were acquired on eBay with the seller apparently not recognizing they were fine silver instead of sterling. I probably got a bit of a price break because of that.

Those are really nice pens!  Are the clips fine silver as well, or are they sterling?

The clip on the middle pen is marked sterling, the other one isn't marked, but I am pretty sure it is also sterling.

I forget,  fine silver is more or less silver than sterling?

Fine silver is almost pure silver.  The marking on the Waterman pens says "FINE 999/1000 SILVER".  It usually doesn't wear well because it is so soft compared to sterling, which is 92.5% silver.

Thanks, I thought it was more but didn't remember how much.
