Dear All:

 

Was doing some investigating into Parker 51 fountain pen variants.

 

I have a Parker 51 mark II, and the cap metal is a very polished chrome-like steel.

 

I have seen many pictures of other Parker 51 caps, in which the finish is not polished, but more like satin-appearing. Is this an illusion, or is the metal more like a brushed stainless steel, like that of the majority of parker flighters, like the 45, the 61, and the 75?

Photo would help.  I've noticed some later-issue Mark I pens called Mark II here n' there. I also am used to seeing mirror-finish caps on Mark 1 "51" Special.

Parker refered to some finishes as 'scratch buffed'.
