Had a very nice time at the recent DC Fountain Pen Supershow. Of course, that is not an uncommon thing.  Let's cut to the chase and view some show and tell, the hoard I found there.

First, some Parker Vacumatics. 1930's-1940's Parker Vacumatics. Photo is a bit limited. This one is double "show n' brag", as not only do I own these, but I bought them all within about an hour at the Washington DC Supershow last week. At center are six (yes, six) Vacumatic Senior Maxima pens, including two Azure Blues (one a stone cold Mint single jewel pen I bought back from a customer to whom I'd sold it 8 years ago), a Burgundy, two Emeralds and a Golden Pearl. A scarce black Vacumatic Senior (thin-fat-thin cap-band) and a few really nice standard-girth Burgundies largely round out the lot. The last one, in slot three, does not show well in the pic, but is a prototype Vac, the only one of its kind even I have ever handled. More on that later.

More images to follow over next couple days. Still have to dig up the Pelikans, the six-item Parker 51 hoard, and so forth.

Beautiful pens, David.  I am really drawn to the Blue Vacs.

A most reasonable response ;)

I had inquiry already on the blues and am having chat, but both can be for sale and at least one should survive the current discussion.  I could see you with the mint single-jewel pen. It is not inexpensive, but it is... spectacular.

I managed to see some of these at the show. The double jeweled Blue Max has a really interesting personalization.  The prototype has REALLY cool blue/silver plastic.  I think we need a better picture of it up here.

Incredible array of wonderful Vac's!

I also want to say thanks for having dinner with me/Doug/Marvin Friday night, and showing your car to me; truly a wonderful machine! While I had very little to add to the pen conversation, I appreciate being a part of the "inner" circle of collectors.
