Crest Masterpiece Question

The cap is not hallmarked as 14k.  The clip is.  The question is the cap also 14k?

Yep. Should be with that pattern and with gold clip.  Trying to recall if my CM's have hallmark on cap proper as well. I'd think there would be one at base of cap. But, this style cap was not offered gold-filled, and it seems unlikely Sheaffer would put a gold clip on a filled cap.

 

Do show more. If this is open-nib hourglass-section Crest Masterpiece, I'd have some interest.

I thought so as well.  The lack of hallmark was cause for pause.   It's a triumph nib.

Figures.  I have a few of that style. Still could use an Original Crest with gold cap.
