I recently saw this little gem on eBay, and decided it was about time to own myself a Baby JKS.  As you can see, it's a nice little pen that is just a hair over 3.25" long.

However, I didn't decide to do much research on it until after it arrived.

From what I can find, there are 20-1/2 pens that are supposed to be like this, but mine is clearly marked 2 1/2, not 20 1/2.

Any ideas?  I can't find a 2 1/2 listed in any catalog or mentioned anywhere on forums, etc.

Hi Brian,

Later versions (I'm not certain of cut-off date) seem to have lost the tens-column digit and iirc tend to have a taller knurled top piece.

regards

Sometime in the early 1920s, the model imprint seems to have lost the tens digit, as David noted. I've not seen noted any particular pen features that correspond to this occurring, and have seen pens with the same features but with both normal and shortened model imprints. It also doesn't seem to be addressed in the catalogs that are available, but I must note that I haven't checked the ParkerGram newsletters.

Here's a selection of baby Jack Knives. The four on the left are all model 20s and 20-1/2s, all with the full model imprint.
