The nib is from a Parker 51
but I've still to engineer the whole idea.

P.S. No Parker 51 was damaged, the nib is untipped

<grin> You've caught me here having just engaged in a little creative thinking of my own. I purchased a couple of troubled Parker VS's off Ebay with cracked barrels. Well, the first one I didn't know was cracked, but that's another story. I converted them to blow-fillers with silicone sacs and Kullock Parker 51 barrels, which required a little bit of creativity in the coupling, as the VS sections don't thread onto "51" barrels, not even close. Well, that was creative, and attractive, actually, but I was happily adjusting the nib on one of them, lifting tines to smooth the edge of the slit as Richard describes, and the force of this lifting was enough to sheer off the end of the section just in front of the clutch ring. Damn, those VS's can be fragile! Time for more creativity. Not having a lathe or any machining skills anyway, I found a section from a long-dead Sheaffer plunger filler that the VS feed will just fit into. Ah, so now I just need to lop off the fluted end of the Sheaffer celluloid section so that it will fit in the inner cap, glue in a tube to form a sac nipple, adjust it's OD to admit the clutch ring and thread into the barrel, and then it should be a working frankenpen again in no time.

Here's a picture of the blow-filler version with the undamaged VS section. The replacement section will not be as pretty. It occurred to me that, without the VS section, there will not be much of the original pen left, just the cap, clutch ring, nib, and feed! C'est la vie. It's not like I need a pen. Just foolin' around.

Some of my favorite Frankenpens are Estie models with gold Sheaffer/Eversharp nibs. I recall seeing these posted somewhere on the boards......
