Since I got the Neptune book,  by Hull & Bryan, a couple of years ago, I was curious at least to see one of those pens. During the last London WES show a few days ago I was lucky enough to find a Push Fill Neptune No 44 A… It just needed a sac and it is working now. Enjoy the image !

Mike Bryan had a stall at the show - did it come from him? If not, I'm sure he'll be sorry he missed out on it! It looks to be in great condition, and a very nice find.

Always great to see your pens!! This brand is a first for me, thank you!

How is the filling mechanism? Similar to MB push knob system?

Best regards

Andy,

I got it from Ray but I showed to S. Hull and many others could handle it ... The condition is surprising indeed...

It seems many people came back to Ray looking for the pen and it was gone. I never met Mike Bryan... I always say to myself I have to meet the people there but when I start looking at pens time goes so fast... there are so many and those I would love to have tend to hide, so I have to keep on looking... I always stop to say hello to old friends... Henry, John, Jim, Duncan, Graham, Sarj... but never have time to meet new people unless it happens... Will try better next time.

Vasco,

As I said I knew about it in the Hull / Bryan book.

As soon as I came back I looked in the book and I found it needed a sac, so I installed a sac.

At one end there is a small screw, you open it to the end, you post the cap, cover the cap hole with your finger, push the cap and release the hole, it sucks the ink.

Simple. Then you close the screw...  You can use it posted or not. It responds to its name Push-Fill... great pen from 1923 !

When you have been collecting for so long and mainly looking for different "filling systems", I could only be very pleased...

Hope meeting you in Hamburg or London one day... unless you go to American shows.

Best, Ariel
