Hi
I am planning to offer the above noted set for sale and wonder if it is Misleading to describe it as RARE
I cannot find any examples that have the matching pencil. I do know Burgundy is a very desirable colour
All info appreciated .
Keith

Hi,

Appealing set in less common color, but even allowing for subjectivity of term "rare", the set is not a rare variant.

regards

David
I took another look at the this " Set" and the pencil does not match . It only has a plain single band and was made in Canada in 1950
I will list the pen but perhaps I should bring the pencil to Columbus as I have no idea of its value
Keith
Ps
It is 4 3/4 inches

Hi Keith,

Weirdly enough, I could use the Canadian Sub-Deb Burgundy Pencil. Please do save  it for me and bring to Ohio in two weeks.  We can probably do some  business... ;)

It would match the pen at the right of the image in the Burgundy Quiz in this old thread here at FPB

curious, how much are you asking for the pen?

my son Charlie collects vacs (at least it is not chiltons....)

and this is one color/size he does not have.

he is actually on the hunt presently for a golden web. So he might have to really think which one he wants as his next pen.

Let me know!

Rick

Would he take a Golden Web that would be near mint except the dog chewed the cap a bit?

Oh sorry. Didn't realize there was a Golden Web already in play in this discussion. I'd thought this thread was about red pens. No worries, you guys deal on a Golden Web. Save me the red pencil for Ohio.  I'll check if I have cases when I get home. Fitting them in luggage might be challenge, but I can check.

I think young Charlie would be interested in any golden web that he could ink and use. certainly isn't going to ink my new never seen ink from George I got at DC.

As far as the debutante, I will check it out. He is really leaning on the idea of a golden web.
