I have been a little sceptical about scented inks but I got the J. Herbin ones lately... And while they gave me a headache once I opened them, the scents have mellowed a little over time. They also don't smell as strongly on paper. Also, I thought that these inks seemed to give a little more lubrication while writing... Am I the only one who feels this way? :) I've reviewed it, complete with scans, by the way. Love the Apple green.

I've only got the violet and I love it. Possibly my favourite ink and I have quite a few. I love the scent but once dried I can't smell it. I would like the rose and I think that's the next ink I will buy.

I tried the J. Herbin scented ink pack too.  Although the inks are lovely to write with, and very aromatic, it doesn't last a very long time.  If you want to seek out some interesting inks, J. Herbin at one time made scented inks for Mont Blanc, but that was several years ago, such as their very limited edition, Je T'aime from Valentine's day 2005 and 2008.  Pendemonium also had some scented inks, too.

As for the lubricity of your ink, what kind of pen and paper are you using?  Those are quite influential with flow and smoothness (Not including the nib, though).

The only one I have tried is a bottle of Love You by Mont Blanc. The scent is strong but it to dissipates quickly. Flow is fine though I have it in a 1.1 stub that flows well so it could be a drier ink I would not really notice it. I bought it when I was in Dromgoole's in Houston back in November simply because he had a few bottles left and I had never seen them for sale before. It went outdated in November of 2012, not that really matters but it does show how old it is.

I have been using the DeAtramentis scented inks for quite some time now - all are excellent! Can't smell the ink on the paper but they smell nice while you're writing! My favorites are blackberry and plum - oh, and amaretto after 5 o'clock.
