If you refer to the post PELIKAN 100N - Sticking piston in the Repair & Restoration forum you will see I have a Pelikan 101N which until a few days ago I thought was a 100N.

The responses to this particular post has provided me a lot more information regarding my pen which now brings me to this forum seeking more information.  Attached are two photos for which I have placed a question underneath each hoping someone will have the answer.

What is the significance to the numbers 3672 imprinted at the end of the barrel?

Around the base of the knob section of the cap is the imprint of Pelican written three times with each word separated by an asterisk.

Note the spelling of Pelican is with a 'c' rather than a 'k' - would this perhaps been for a specific export market?

Thanks

I do not know what the number means but the "Pelican" imprint was used during a period in the 1950s for pens destined for the French and English market. It can also be found on the Pelikan 400 models of that time.

Correction: I found a 1937 Pelikan pamphlet showing 101N pens with a "Pelican" imprint, so that imprint was used from the end of the 1930s well into the 1950s.

Does the pen have a 14 or 18 karat nib?

OK, I was just curious to know as "Pelican" imprinted pens are sometimes found with 18 karat nibs and these pens were for the French market.

Pelican engravings are much more scarce than the regular Pelikan. I was told it was a specific imprint for the UK market.

I´ve seen the numbers engraved in the same exact place in other pens ( Pelikan 120 and Pelikan 100N). They are original from Pelikan but I don´t know what they mean. The numbers are different in all pens I´ve seen.
