My wife received a Facebook notice that Jon Rosenbaum passed away late Thursday. Sad news. I only live about 1 1/2 miles from him.

Sad...I remember having conversations about combos with him at Ohio over the years, he was quite knowledgeable about some of the more uncommon brands. I'll always remember those that treated me like any other pen collector when I started attending shows in the US at 19 and I know we did some business over the years, glad to have known him.

Really too bad. I only knew him a little bit, but what I saw, I liked. Sorry to hear this.

Jon was a really good guy he grabbed the only Waterman combo I ever owned. I knew he was not well. We just keep losing our pals

Looking yesterday for Jon's vintage site I observed it does not exist. A nice Jack Knife will preserve his remembrance here, in Romania.  So sad....

I live only about 1 1/2 miles from Jon's house. I tried several times to visit him, but he was too sick.

Jon has been a fixture at the Dallas show for a while, and as we got to know each other, we were able to talk about things other than pens, like ships and strings and sealing wax, and buyer's foibles. He was a resource there for many, who, doubtless, will miss his expertise. A mensch. RIP, old friend.
